Opposite Mr. Brigham*s, and near the river-bank, is another old house, which is situated on ground belonging from the earli- est settlement to the Cook family. John Cook Hved here during the Revolution, and some of the officers of our army boarded with him at the time of the siege, of whom Colonel Knox and Harry Jackson, bosom friends, enjoyed each other's companion- ship during brief intervals of rest.
