The stage coach in the early part of 1800 was the next step in the transportation of passengers. Austin Dunham, who was horn in South Coventry in 1843 and was taken soon after that to Hart- ford to live, used as a boy to visit his great-aunt, who lived in the Jesse Root house on Bipley Hill.
