The Duke of Wellington laid the first stone on the I2th of October, 1820. It is built of Bath stone in the gothic style of the four- teenth century. From an elegant arcade in the front rises a beautiful and lofty tower, strengthened at the four corners by octagon-shaped buttresses, while the CHELSEA.
