He was for some time a clerk in this city, and entered the army in 1813. He was rapidly promoted, and after rendering valuable and distinguished service in the Mexican War, died in Texas in the year 1849. His remains were interred in New York city. In the summer of 1844 Gen. Worth visited this city... and received firom its citizens an elegant and valuable sword as a testimonial of Digitized by VjOOQIC 64 SKXTOHXB OF HUDSON.
