What reading level is History of Higher Education in Rhode Island book?
To quickly assess the difficulty of the text, read a short excerpt:
His interest in the instruction of the masses was keen. When the lecture system came into vogue, he was first to organ- ize a course in Woonsocket. He was also actively interested in the antislavery movement. He was one of the founders of the Worces- ter Natural History Society, and served as one of its officers for nine years, in August, 1866, a large number of his pupils held a reunion in Worcester. The speeches and reminiscences show the esteem and veneration in which their professor was hel...d. His educational work covered more than half a century and he entered into his rest Decem- ber 20, 1888. Perhaps no better impression can be given of this man than from his own words, at a reunion of his old pupils in the celebra- tion of his eightieth birthday. The eightieth anniversary of the birthday of Prof. James Bushee, which took place at his home in Union Village, deserves more than a passing notice, as there were nearly 200 persons present, a large num- ber of whom had at some time during the past fifty-eight years been under the instruction of the professor.
