Marshall County, and bought railway lands. He improved his holding and then sold out at a profit, and after that worked in a flour mill at Blue Rapids for three years. This incident alone in the life of this observing and aggressive pioneer will furnish a cue as to his real character and the spirit of advancement which has long actuated him.
