Ottawa township wa> organized in March, 1835, with a limited number of people wlin had settled in the township during the previous two years. One of the first white settlers in the township was George Agner, who came here in the vear 1832 and, the following year, settled on a farm east of Ottawa. The Inst election for township officers was held at Michael Row's tavern, April 6, 1835.
