Of course, the way he kept the winery open during Prohibition was to get one of the licenses to make altar wine and medicinal wine. He s quoted as saying all of a sudden his customers got religion and sick at the same time, so probably he made a little extra wine beyond the license, is my guess, but I think the statute of limitations has long run out.
