The following letter from Prior Sharrock to Dr. Poynter at St Edmund's was written soon after the reassembly of the com- munity at Acton Bumell : — " Acton Bumell, Shrewsbury. "October 3rd, 1795. "Dear Sir, — After different enquiries after yourself and the rest of our Doullens friends, I hear that you and Mr. Staple- ton, with some others of our acquaintance, have taken up your quarters, at least for a time, at Old Hall Green. Our former friendship, so well cemented by our common adventures an...d a long captivity, makes me particularly curious to know what is become qf all our fellow prisoners. I have often r^retted that our various avocations when we arrived in London allowed us to see so little of one another, and since our separation, though I have been in different parts of England, scarce have I met with one of the celebrated Trente-deux or their associates. I hear that several are with you ; others in London, others in the North, &c God be thanked, I do not yet hear that anyone is yet dead.
