'"^ The structure must have been of a most unpretentious kind, and furnished to meet only the most pressing needs of the people, the priest making his abode as usual with some of the faithful. No trace or vestige of the old chapel remains. Only a remote tradi- tion has kept alive the fact that the chapel was built of logs, and that it was situated between Pomfret Street and Chapel Alley.
