Mr. O. C. Gilmore, whose Pawhuska cottage home appars in connec- tion, was born and reared among the Osages, but not of Osage descent. His parents were from Tennessee, and were Indian traders in ante-bellum days. Mr. Gilmore is a successful farmer, having one of the finest farms in the Osage, located surrounding the west side of Skiatook.
