Of many among the miracles already commonly believed, he took no notice, " I know not by what idea Ribadeneira was influenced, that he should pass over so many miracles of this kind." It was on account of these very omissions that Polancus commenced his collection, and that Mer- curianus caused his work to be elaborated by Mafifei, whence they were transferred to Orlandinus.
