This tree is common in most pastures of Jamaica, jrising from eii^ht to twelve feet Tjigh. The bark is of fi yellowish brown colour, smoothish, with ash-coloured spots.— The wood is very hard and tough, and used for making bows and cattle yokes, as alsa for fuel.
