Art, 55. Kiln Test.
This test was originated by Dr. Bohm^, and consists in exposing small cakes of the cement to heat in a drying oven for a definite period, and observing whether it cracks.
The specifications of the Association of German Cement Makers recommend this test as a means of forming an opinion quickly, but make the ordinary 28- day test decisive as to those cements which fail to pass the kiln test.
