Ali loved his birthplace, and when he became rich and powerf til he f otmded here a great school for poor boys who came from all the region round about. Here, once a week, in the great dining room everybody who comes is fed, free, gratis, for nothing I Turks, Jews, Christians, Greeks, Armenians, Americans even; no one is turned away.
