III. INFECTION OF THE YOUNG GERMINATING SEEDLINGS.
1. Young germinating seedlings of a variety of wheat from Leerbeutel were sprayed with smut spores of wheat from Miinster, which were just ready to germinate, and distributed in very dilute nutrient solution.
