As far as last lines in a book go, that one is pretty fantastic. Perfect for readers who have read the series and perfect for ones who saved the prequel for last.
This addition to the Gossip Girl series took me a little while to get into, but now that I have finished it I think that was just because I wasn't in the mood. Reading about everyones life before the events that take pla
ce in the rest of the series was really fun and entertaining. It was great to see how everyone ended up the way they did.
In terms of characters, this story made me love Serena more than I already did. It confirmed that I ship Serena x Nate about 100 times more than I ship Blair x Nate. It kind of made me dislike Dan more than I already did. And in terms of everyone else, I didn't really have any sort of change in opinion.
I feel like now is a good time to point out (since this is both the beginning and the end of this series), that my rating of this series has mainly been based on entertainment rather than this being a "good series" because writing and plot wise it really isn't anything spectacular (tbh it's repetitive and in some points just bad.) I think that the books are very fun/addicting/entertaining but they are also much more juvenile that the TV show. If you like trashy chick-lit then I can recommend this series to you.
I have two Gossip Girl series left to read (Gossip Girl: The Carlyles and The It Girl) as well as Psycho Killer (which I might save for Halloween) and one GG novel that is about the OG characters but set a few years in the future. And as always, I am looking forward to reading about all the glamour and drama that these books offer me.
