What reading level is Jefferson Blythe, Esquire book?
To quickly assess the difficulty of the text, read a short excerpt:
Not that I have any idea what anyone other than Esquire says, but it’s bound to be true. Because Paris is like no place else. Even the air feels different. Lighter, brighter, sort of sparkly, like they release champagne bubbles into it on a regular basis. I could feel it the second I got off the Eurostar. Paris in July. Supposedly this was the time of year when the true Parisians split for Ibiza or the Côte d’Azur and left the City of Light to the tourists. So it was in Gramps’s day and ...back in the day of Fitzgerald and Hemingway too. And so it continued, according to the websites I’d checked out. The city’s mood was supposed to be “languorous yet exuberant,” and that seemed to pretty much sum it up. London had been crowded, but Paris seemed overflowing. Or maybe it was that exuberance again. Or the champagne. The air was cooler, it had rained the night before I arrived, and even the car exhaust smelled vaguely couture.
