And they weren't poor. The father was a lawyer, Harry McKannay. He was a big Mason too, in spite of being a Catholic. I wasn't affected by the Depression — except the young people that we knew, as I told you, it was rare that they'd have a car — if somebody had "wheels, " as we used fo soy.
