Mr. Lindsay — From the Committee on Public Highways, made a Re- port (Appendix, No. 53) accompanied by a bill, entitled, "An Ordinance changing the names of certain streets," and Five Resolutions, viz: Resolved, That the City Commissioners be and they are hereby directed, under the direction of the Committee on Pub- lic Highways, to cause Sixth street, from Chesnut to George street, to be paved with wooden blocks.

...he direction of the Committee on Public Highways, to cause Third street, from Willing's alley to Spruce street to be repaved with wooden blocks, instead of stone pebbles as ordered by Councils, Provided, That the citi- zens applying for the same, shall pay into the city Treasury the sum of Eight Hundred Dollars, being two thirds of the esti- mated difference in cost between wood and stone.
Resolved, That the city Commissioners be, and they are hereby instructed, under the direction of the Committee on Public Highways, to cause Spruce street, from Tenth to Eleventh street, to be repaved with wooden blocks — Provided, The citizens applying for the same shall pay into the city Trea- sury two-thirds of the difference in cost between wood and stone.
