W. Patton, W. A. Miller. AX ORDINANCE To grant permission to Sykes Brothers to construct and maintain a tunnel under and across Huntingdon street, twenty-five feet east of Hancock street, to allow of communication between their mills. Section 1. The Select and Common Councils of the City of Philade...lphia do ordain, That permission be, and is hereby granted to Sykes Brothers to construct and main- tain a tunnel, not exceeding four feet high and four feet wide, under and across Huntingdon street, twenty-five feet east of Hancock street, to connect their mill on the south side with their mill on the north side of Hunting- don street. The work of constructing said tunnel shall be done without interfering with any municipal or other structures, and under and subject to the inspection of the Departments of Public Works and Public Safety, and in accordance with plans and drawings to be approved by 76 APPENDIX TO THE JOURNAL the said Department and the Board of Highway Super- visors: Provided, That the said tunnel shall be used ex- clusively in the conduct of their business at said location; and that before exercising any privilege under this ordi- nance the said Sykes Brothers shall first file an agree- ment and bond in the sum of one thousand (1,000) dollars, satisfactory to the City Solicitor, indemnifying the City againsl all damages by reason of the construction and maintenance of the said tunnel, and agreeing to place and maintain the street torn up by reason of said work in a manner satisfactory to the Department of Public Works, and shall pay into the City Treasury the sum of fifty (50) dollars for the publication of this ordinance.
