But, after we have confessed the enjoinment, unity may become a hindrance to the real, true, effective unity of the Church, making us forget the immediate duty, and loosening the bonds of love and of charitable activity in the special local church to which we belong, after we have called on our consciences to account for the time we take away from humble duty in order to enjoy and manifest Christian fellow ship.
