"And now," said Mr. Murphy, the president of the cooperative, as he quieted the people in the hall, "Kay Hennings will say the Pledge of Allegiance." My knees shook as I walked up to the stage. I hope you can cloud their minds, Tom, I thought. Then, just as I got to the stairs, there was a commotion to one side of the hall.
