His Majesty, therefore, relying on theexperience and judgment of the sieur de Laperouse, authorises him tomake any deviation that he may deem necessary, in unforeseen cases, pursuing, however, as far as possible, the plan traced out, andconforming to the directions given in the other parts of the presentinstructions.
