THE KNOCK ON KATY’S DOOR stopped her packing. It didn’t sound like Delilah’s tap or Hannah’s bang. Certainly it wasn’t Laredo’s unannounced entrance. She supposed that since they technically were splitting a room, he didn’t feel he had to announce himself.
