It didn’t take me long to realize enlisting the aid of the priest may have been a mistake. At this point, it appeared Hadrian might do our cause more harm than good. I wanted to save Terrac all right but not at the cost of my neck. For that matter, I wouldn’t endanger the band either and it was certain I would be doing so if I complied with Hadrian’s plan. Maybe in the world Hadrian liked to imagine, the authorities would gratefully accept the testimony of an admitted outlaw and allow me walk free.
