OFFICE PENNSYLVANIA RAIL ROAD COMPANY, Philadelphia, Nov. 3rd, 1861. DEAR ISAAC: Your letter reached me at Carlisle. I was much pleased to hear from you. I have been in Philada. For a few days past, but have been so steadily engaged in efforts to facilitate the equipment of our Company, as to be unable to see any of my friends. I believe, I at last see daylight in regard to arms and expect to have pistols and sabres at " Camp Kentucky " by Wednesday next.
Gen 1 1 Wm. J. Palmer 51 It ...is needless for me to say that I shall always be glad to hear from you wherever I am but particularly when I get out to Ken- tucky, and become actively engaged in the Campaign. I shall no doubt have frequent opportunities of writing to you if not, pray do not let that prevent you from letting me hear how you are and what your views are con- cerning daily events, whenever it is agreeable to you to write.
Come up and pay us a visit at Camp Kentucky before we leave.
