Besides all these advantages the occu- pation of the fort and dependent districts of Masulipatam was of itself a valuable object. This possession was annexed to the Presidency of Fort St. George.
As soon as the afore-mentioned treaty was signed, Colonel Forde paid a visit to Salabat Jang in his camp, the results of which can best be told in his own words, when writing a letter to Clive and the Select Committee of Bengal on 1 4th June, 1759.
