Hence without distorting or mutilating the facts, it omits what has no refer- ence to the object to be gained and sets forth all that bears upon it; circumstances which, apart from the purpose of the discourse are insignificant, are made prominent, if they give plausibility to the orator's views or favor the impression he wishes to create.
