Some three or four days previously, he was partially confined to the house enjoy ing, however, with his usual flow of spirits, the society and conversation of his numerous friends, who visited him daily, and watched, with anxious and distressful solicitude, every symptom that threatened to snatch from them their venerated friend and^ benefactor.
