Upwards of one hun- dred respectable citizens have enrolled themselves as annual contributors to the charity fund. Since then he has been suc- ceeded by others, who devote themselves to the special diseases of the eye. Thus we find that in less than a year after leaving Lexington, Dr. Drake had already commenced the various occupations of physician, surgeon, author, and journalist.
