And his sudden and untimely death in the prime of life is a loss to that party that is nearly, if not quite, irreparable. [Applause.] ADDRESS OF MR. PEEL, OF ARKANSAS.
Mr. Speaker: The cause of the sad gloom we see resting u...pon the faces of all present, and the apparent gloom upon the walls of this Chamber, is known to us all. There is one con- spicuous and well-known member of this body gone, and gone forever; that one is Leonidas Campbell Houk, of Tennessee.
