" — "We see through a glass darkly. " These words say w...hat I feel. I am not wise enough to tell the meaning of the event which has brought us to- gether. Once, on occasions like this, the speaker was expected to state with ful ness and exactness the mind of God re- specting the death in commemoration. He was supposed to be familiar with the secret counsels of the Most High, and to be able to interpret them to such as knew less than he. I am here to do no service of the kind. I have no knowledge others have not. Existence is no less perplexing 108 FREDERICK SARGENT HUNTINGTON.
