As will be explained later, this retrograde movement tends towards instability, and although the ratio of L/D and L are very greatly reduced, by a reverse curve, it becomes necessary to bear in mind that for aeroplane wing sections the loss in efficiency may be worth whUe, in order to gain in stability.
