Here was life, liberty, and hap- piness indeed ; and the more than half century since has not effaced nor dulled the memory of that boy- hood experience.
After a few days of camp life on the new home- stead, and sleeping at night in the big wagon, the two departed, and early in December the family all came, and housed with neighbor Lybarger, who had just built and moved in, after the Ellises had done their plowing. In the two families thus brought to- gether, there were the fovir adults and eight children, aged from one to ten years.
