What reading level is Modern Interpretations of the Gospel Life book?
To quickly assess the difficulty of the text, read a short excerpt:
Yet Paul was not a very irrational kind of a man. He was not a dreamy idealist who knew nothing about real life. He was not even a bloated bondholder, as the phrase goes, simply clipping coupons when they came due. He was a working- man. He knew how to support himself with his own hands and did it more than once. Indeed, Paul was even less favored in his undertakings than the average wage-earner of to-day. The latter at least has a claim on his employer and on the thing he produces. Paul, on th...e contrary, had no earthly sponsor, and must sustain himself by reliance on other than earthly sources. But Paul was a rich man if we may trust him to tell us what he thought of himself. He had nothing, yet he pos- sessed all things. He was poor, yet he made many rich. He was able to glory in tribulations and could rejoice in suffer- ing, and appeared to think that he was most favored of men in being able to do just these very things. Modern cynical mammonism, I dare say, thinks that Paul was a fool.
