Asphalt and white zinc cement may be used for balsam mounts, but they are no good for glycerine jelly or Farrant's medium. The best cement for all slides is Club Black enamel. It can be bought at any cycle shop. As sold, it is a little too thin for microscopical work, but if the cork is left out of the bottle it will soon evaporate to the desired thickness. When too thick, dilute with methylated spi...rit. The brush must also be washed in methylated spirit after use.
