What reading level is Montana Outdoors Vol 14 No 6 Nov/dec 1983 book?
To quickly assess the difficulty of the text, read a short excerpt:
Our hunt up in Wilson Creek ended with two elk for four hunters. Eric shot a nice five-point bull, and Charlie shot a young bull with a "brush rack." I would have bet good money that we couldn't have gotten a horse to where Eric's bull was quartered and hidden from noisy ravens and whiskey jacks. But by using scouts to pick a trail and lots of patience, we led two of the pack horses to the site. The sky was a vivid blue with scattered clouds as we wound our way downstream to the trail head. We ...had just dropped off the ridge lined with windswept snags— whitebark pine killed by a bark beetle attack years ago. The spruce-fir forest was dusted with snow. We pack- ed the elk on two big ranch geldings with the horns as a top pack. Camp supplies were packed on the mules raised by my stable old traveling mare. As we approached the cross- ing on the main fork of Wilson Creek, the clouds gathered for an approaching storm. Charlie muttered something about horns making poor soup. He was happy with his brush rack.
