What reading level is Montana Outdoors Vol 17 No 6 Nov/dec 1986 book?
To quickly assess the difficulty of the text, read a short excerpt:
"About 300 feet downriver, he sets the winch and then starts to draggin' it in. Well, about 40 feet into the retrieve, we hear this 'CREEEEEEEAK' sound from the winch and Charlie hollers, 'We got 'im!' as the sturgeon jumps into the air and breaches like a whale. "Well we fought him for about an hour until the bearings started to go on the winch and the engine in the truck overheated. We finally had to stop fighting him, but the line was stretched taut. Charlie got a pulaski to cut the cable, b...ut he couldn't cut through it and that damn fish drug Charlie's truck plumb into the river. Took us two hours to hitchhike into Alberton for a ride back to Missoula. And if you look at the big bend in the river near Ninemile, you'll still see Charlie's 1936 Ford pickup truck lodged into the bank where that sturgeon busted the cable and PTO winch offn the truck."— Michael Kom, Montana Folklife Project, Mon- tana Arts Council; Helena.
