What reading level is Montana Outdoors Vol 24 No 3 May/jun 1993 book?
To quickly assess the difficulty of the text, read a short excerpt:
MISSOURI RIVER COMPLEX AT FORT PECK LOWER DREDGE CUTS ONE MILE FORT PECK RESERVOIR c ^^ INCE 1988, WHEN THE PROJECT WAS COMPLETED, | redds have been counted each spring in the two primary \j* spawning areas. These counts probably underestimate the actual number of redds, but they indicate a general improve- ment in spawning activity (see figure). Also in 1988, the Mon- tana Fish, Wildlife & Parks Commission reduced the daily and possession limit for rainbow trout below Fort Peck Dam to two, and... closed the two primary spawning areas to fishing and wading. Today, many anglers voluntarily practice catch and release fishing, especially with the larger rainbows. There are no salmonfly or caddis hatches below Fort Peck Dam, and few mayfly swarms. Unlike the large rainbow trout of the Kootenai River, these rainbows are not known to be fish eaters. Apparently their excellent growth is due to a diet of midges and blackflies. However, cisco are abundant in the tailrace, following their 1984 introduction into Fort Peck Reservoir.
