What reading level is Montana Outdoors Vol 27 No 5 Sep/oct 1996 book?
To quickly assess the difficulty of the text, read a short excerpt:
Pheasants don't always run away from hunters; when they elect to hold they hold like burrs. Waders are another important piece of equipment. Sooner or later, you'll have to wade an irrigation ditch or slough. Hip boots are generally preferable to chest waders, particularly early in the season, when the weather is often wami. 1 buy the cheap all- rubber jobs, primarily because they're ( 1 ) cheap, and (2) easy to patch! Holes are a foregone conclusion, for if the briars and beaver-chewed punji s...ticks don't get you, the barbed-wire fences will. If there's a chink in a rooster's armor, it's his proclivity to fly over water when flushed. Why they do so is beyond me, but it's true — I'll bet 90% of the birds I flush fly directly over the river or stream near which I'm hunting them. Therefore, I always try, when possible, to stay near the streambank if I'm hunting by myself, or post some- one else there if I'm hunting with a friend. This technique doesn't work all the time (nothing works all the time), but it works often enough to make it worth a try.
