What reading level is Montana Outdoors Vol 31 No 5 Sep/oct 2000 book?
To quickly assess the difficulty of the text, read a short excerpt:
Without pausing he added, "There are special oils in the leaves that make the mule deer jump higher." I remember giving him that "Really?" look before we burst into laughter. That laughter rekindled the chattering from a drowsy tree squirrel and marked the end of serious hunting lessons that day. I know this much: We bonded beyond a casual friendship. We accepted and loved one another despite knowing each other's weaknesses and flaws. He gave me the gift of time and knowledge. I gave him respec...t and a second chance — another opportunity to create that bond between hunters that he'd somehow missed with Dad. Storyteller Grandpa shared hundreds of hunting and packing stories over the years that followed. Actually, there were only a handful of tales that he recycled brilliantly hundreds of times. A canvas cook tent along Dwight Creek served as the backdrop for many of his stories. Even though he hadn't packed into the "Bob" for many years, I still could see the jolly camp cook and serious hunter in him whenever he and I talked.
