What reading level is Montana Outdoors Vol 8 No 5 Jul/aug 1977 book?
To quickly assess the difficulty of the text, read a short excerpt:
Enclosed you will find two pictures that I took during my most recent stay. They show Buck Creek which is situated in southwestern Montana. Although not a blue ribbon stream by fishing standards, it certainly is so in regard to scenic beauty and purity of its water which supports native cutthroat trout. This stream, like so many streams before it, has an ominous cloud hovering over it. Log- ging is the name of the cloud. It is my understanding that the loggers are going to harvest timber there ...and together with bulldozing a road into this area, this certainly will have a most devastating impact on the area. Buck Creek will no doubt be rendered sterile. If I ever saw a frail ecology, that certainly is an outstanding ex- ample. Taylor Fork, a nearby stream, already is feeling the effects of clear- cutting. It is not my hope — it is my prayer — that the clearing of timber in the Buck Creek locale will not happen. I live some 2,000 miles from the Gallatin country and am only a visitor annually, but I love Montana every bit as much as the natives of the state.
