What reading level is Montana Outdoors Vol 9 No 2 Mar/apr 1978 book?
To quickly assess the difficulty of the text, read a short excerpt:
Introduced plants represent problems to agriculturalists and primarily to farmers; i.e., they are searching for some economic relief from these plants. It would be naive to assume a farmer will not attempt to control these plants in his crops. However, we cannot and do not endorse a "phytophobiac" attitude (a per- son who fears plants or certain kinds of plants) toward these same plants on noncrop lands. Similarly, undesirable introduced plants on one range land does not automatically condemn t...hem on all other lands or even on other range land. The term "reclamation" in- dicates the return to a predistur- bance condition. Unless this con- dition was crop land, it was dominated by native plants. Native vegetation should be con- sidered first for seeding of disturb- ed sites because of its natural adaptation to soil, physiographic and climatic conditions. First seedlings may not re-establish on such sites due to severe alteration of soil structure and texture. In these cases, establishment of earlier successional native plants should be attempted.
