The period at which this diathesis becomes manifest will in part depend on the time of development of the bodily, mental, or emotional faculties with which the kind of wrong is specially associated ; or it may be preco- cious, or delayed, according as the diathesis is transmitted in its full vigour, or is tending to be- come weaker in successive generations.
