What reading level is More book?
To quickly assess the difficulty of the text, read a short excerpt:
But all good painters would do well, after their kind, in an art which yielded triumphs to Hogarth and Holbein, to Correggio and " Old " Crome.
Therefore, let not the shopkeepers tarry, but let them go with gold to the places where artists dwell. That they should hang out sign-boards is not, surely, an un- reasonable request. But now, of course, every one is taught to read. Nor will the sur- vival of these signs stem that abominable torrent of educa- tion, which is flooding, but will never fertilise, the land. "Why then, " asks the shopkeeper, "should I spend my money on a sign -board ?" Sir, I will explain.
