We began selling wine in "80; the spring of '80 was our first release of wine, and that was the Three Palms Merlot. There were not very many Merlots on the market, and we were one of those, in retrospect, privileged wineries. I think there were thirty wineries in Napa Valley at that time. So when you start that young- -and it was sort of the beginning of the swell of... interest in California wines. Mondavi was doing a lot of espousing the greatness of Napa Valley wines at that point, and was encouraging people to try Napa Valley wines. There were maybe a dozen wineries that were beginning to get recognition. So we were in that new wave of wineries that were beginning to get some focus. And probably because we did Merlot, we got a little more focus. And then I always give credit to the fact that our label with the Duck on it happened to hit a fad that was just beginning on the East Coast.
