" This was a most cheering discovery, and, despite a recently formed resolution not to affix the name of any mem- ber of the party to any object of interest discovered, so re- joiced were they all at the tidings of General Washburn, that the peak was spontaneously and unanimously named Mt. Wash- burn, and as such it is known today.
