Today, the vast majority of our export sales are in bulk commod- ities, nonfat dry milk, butter, whey, a...nd whey components. Tomor- row, with proper planning and organization, we can add yogurt, ice cream, specialty cheese, and other value-added items. In the Northeast, the members of the Council of Northeast Farm- er Cooperatives are actively involved in establishing an export or- ganization. I know that other areas of the country are organizing similar efforts. As an industry, we have to make this a national priority. Mr. Secretary, Mr. Chairman, we need your continuing encour- agement and support as we move this effort ahead.
