SMALL DWELLINGS ACQUISITION ACT, 1899 As already stated, this Act has had for its object the advancing of money by the Government and through the Municipality to persons desirous of acquiring their own homes. County Councils, County Borough Councils, and other municipal authorities have had the power to adopt the Act and make advances to residents or intending residents of the houses to be acquired.
